Balcones Canyonlands Preserve Visitor Center

The BCP Visitor Center is currently in the design phase. The project is located off of highway 620 in the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. This facility is acting as the public access to the preserve. The visitor center will incorporate educational exhibits into the renovated first floor and atrium of the existing building, and will continue through the facility’s new structures (Entry Structure, Pavilion, Observation Tower, etc.). Interior and exterior transitional spaces create flexible gathering areas for events, classrooms, or as a place of rest for hikers. The existing trails will be renovated and new trails will be added to enhance a visitor’s experience on site. The project is implementing sustainable landscaping with the goal of a SITES gold rating.
