CARTS VMC

This large maintenance center services buses and cars that provide door-to-door service in a ten-county area. The large curved roof provides a soft agricultural profile that is in step with the farming community surrounding the site.                           

The Operations Complex project includes the overall masterplan of the 13.7-acre site to include a Vehicle Maintenance Center, Fuel Bays, Wash Bays, Paint & Body Shop, Intermodal Facility, Operations Building and Headquarters Building. The initial Phase 1 includes the complete design and construction of the Vehicle Maintenance Center which houses an 8-bay repair garage, offices, conference room, restrooms, parts storage, machine shop, tire repair/storage and battery room. The sustainable strategies include rainwater collection, building orientation & natural daylighting/ ventilation, low VOC paints & coatings, and durable construction materials. The location of this site creates a more centrally located hub for CARTS services.
